This place is amazing. Since the entrance you get the real vibe of the place. If you want to relax and have a place to retreat, that's the right spot. I don't know if it's possible to use the canoes, but still amazing. Hope to get back someday to appreciate even more my stay.

The location to miralvao was excellent. We visited late September. They gave us a nice upgrade to a 2 bedroom as well. However, it wasn't all that great. The place felt shut down for the season. The water in the swimming area was dirty. The little house had 2 bedrooms and a kitchen, but the bathroom was very outdated. The place smelled very musty upon arrival. Also, there was no information on the swimming pool or restaurant. I doubt they were available. It was ok as a budget place, but I would not stay again. Definitely not comparable to other 3 star places in Portugal.

Very beautiful and unique. High and low waters change the scenery radically, twice a day. You can use the canoes and pedal boats (gaivotas) at your will, which is wonderful for kids!

The worst place I have ever seen! We arrived and no one was there. No reception on the phone. no internet We wanted to cancel and they didn't want to refund us a. the money. Thieves! Don't ever go there

Very quiet place for a relaxing holiday. Stayed at a self catering apartment with kitchen and a terrace, with an amazing view over the river. Not easy to find at first but that's what keeps this place away from the masses.

I loved it. This is not the place if your idea of a good holiday is traditional English Sunday Roast with Corrie on the box and clubbing all night. This is the real Portugal. Four of us booked a two bedroom apartment, which was okay, if a little small. However we were offered an upgrade to the house, and we felt like royalty. The staff are all friendly and helpful, the views over the river fantastic and the peace and quiet amazing. You need a car, but Millfontes is only 5 minutes drive away, and is on the edge of a National park. The place abounds with restaurants and the choice is wide, especially if you like seafood. We holidayed there in September. The weather was unseasonably warm, but the place quiet. Unlike the Algarve, British visitors are a novelty and are welcomed, especially if you can pick up a few words of Portuguese before you go. When I am rich and famous I will move to this spot
